2024 Human Performance Course

Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F)

Earlier this year, the New Hampshire National Guard hosted a two-week Human Performance Course focused on improving physical readiness and injury prevention. SiteWell Solutions supported the delivery of this Guard-directed program through contracted human performance staff under the SWIFT program. Here's a look at the key topics and strategies introduced throughout the course.

Soldiers participated in daily physical training sessions supported by SiteWell’s S&C Coaches. Educational modules—delivered by our subcontracted Performance Dietitian—covered topics related to fueling, recovery, and sustainable performance habits.

Topics included:

  • Running Mechanics (Pose Method)
  • Lifting Techniques
  • Flexibility and Mobility
  • Injury Prevention
  • Performance Nutrition
  • Meal Planning
  • Alcohol and Health
  • Stress Management
  • Goal Setting
  • Exercise Adherence

Comprehensive Training and Education

A standout focus was the Pose running method, introduced to promote injury reduction and efficiency during ruck runs, PT, and ACFT preparation. Participants integrating Pose techniques saw improved run times during their post-course ACFT.

Monitoring Progress and Preventing Injury

Soldiers underwent pre- and post-course assessments, including ACFT performance and body composition testing. These metrics helped highlight performance gains and guide follow-up training needs.

Given the intensive activity schedule, SiteWell’s subcontracted coaches also delivered structured recovery sessions including foam rolling, mobility, tissue work, and guided cooldowns. These sessions helped mitigate fatigue and reduce risk of overuse injuries. Nutritional guidance reinforced adequate recovery and fueling protocols throughout the course.

Conclusion

The 2024 Human Performance Course reflected the NH National Guard’s strong commitment to Soldier readiness and H2F principles. SiteWell Solutions is proud to support this effort by providing contract-based human performance staff and educational resources. We remain committed to advancing the Guard’s wellness mission and look forward to future program support across the region.
